Movies
I admit it. I'm a wimp.
I hate cold weather!
So, I spend a lot of time running inside on my treadmill during the winter months.
Conveniently, directly in front of my treadmill sits a TV.
Happily, this TV is connected to a DVD player.
So, to distract myself from the monotony of running, yet going no where, I usually entertain myself by watching movies. I have recently bought quite a few new movies, but I have also been spending a lot of time watching them. So, I'm getting bored with them already.
I've been thinking about joining Netflix or Blockbuster Total Access.
I was wondering if anyone out there in blog land is a member of either of these, and if you would recommend them.
Thanks!
My sister's fiance is a member of Netflix and loves it. I think he sees a couple movies a week! I love it too! Free movies for this girl!
ReplyDeleteThey are a great deal if you watch a lot of movies. If you only watch a few a month then it is probably not worth it, but if you watch 1-2/week, then go for it!
ReplyDeleteWe had the Blockbuster one for a while. We really liked that we could pick up movies in the store, but we ended up getting rid of it because we don't watch enough movies. It's nice to have when you're working your way through a TV series on DVD though.
ReplyDeleteI have Netflix and LOVE IT. We can watch a movie, mail it in the morning and in two days were the next one. We have the 3 movie at a time program and that fills our needs perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI have the two movie at a time deal with netflix and love it. We don't have a blockbuster store anywhere close by so with either one I would have to just do the mailing in deal.
ReplyDeleteI have Netflix right now, but my husband and I are thinking of switching to Blockbuster's total access.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE NetFlix. I live in a pretty rural area, so it takes a day or so longer for movies to get to me...even so, I almost always have one or two waiting (I'm on the 5-at-a-time plan..."rural" also means to theater within 35 miles!). Anyway, it's also amazing because you can get watch TV shows you always meant to see but never did. I've recently spent some quality time with Sports Night, Gilmore Girls, Da Ali G Show, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI had Blockbuster at one time and would totally go for it again if I watched more movies (as it is, I haven't rented any since August), what I liked with Blockbuster is they also sent you two coupons a month to use at the store and now you can even pick up the movie at the store, (plus at least it was a bit cheaper than netflix) but if you don't have a blockbuster nearby, then netflix I'm sure is just as good.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally jealous of your treadmill in front of the TV thing...if I had that, I would not be running outside in the cold, but as it is, I only have the one at the gym and not much control over what is watched...sigh...
I used to belong to Netflix, but canceled because I did not have time to watch the movies that I rented.
ReplyDeleteTwo thumbs up for blockbuster!!!!! We love it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous - I'm a wimp too but have no tv
ReplyDeleteGreat question, I have no answer, but I have been thinking about Netflix, too, so I'm enjoying the answers here.
ReplyDeleteGL GL with your decision!
I have great luck with netflix-the turn-around is really quick. I am a winter weather wimp on the treadmill. When I do my longer runs I go to the gym for more entertainment.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda jealous about the treadmill, even though, I'm not enjoying running on it that much, sometimes I would rather run 9 mile on it than outside in the freazing icy-cold! Great way to catch up on movies!!
